The Benefits of Clear Intentions Tea

This herbal tea blend consists of Peppermint, Krishna Holy Basil, and White Peony as a tea base.

It was crafted for the purpose of a stimulating and refreshing herbal infusion as well as the blending of flavors, but above all, for the healing benefits in each of the ingredients.

Read on to learn more about each of these herbs and why it’s like a cup of awesome!

Peppermint has a variety of beneficial uses, but the intention of adding it to this tea blend was largely for its ability to ease inflammation, pain, and tension headaches. The menthol in peppermint acts as an expectorant and decongestant, making it easier to breathe - opening things up. It is also widely known for its soothing effect for digestive issues. Overall, peppermint’s ability to provide soothing comfort to multiple body systems, as well as being refreshing, stimulating, and invigorating - allowing the mind to sharpen and focus, is why it makes the perfect main component to our Clear Intentions Tea blend.

Fun Fact: One ounce of dried peppermint contains 540mg of calcium, 220mg of magnesium and 753 mg of potassium!

Holy Basil (Krishna), also known as Tulsi, has been revered for over 3,000 years in India as a sacred plant. It is widely treasured in Ayurvedic medicine. There are multiple types of Holy Basil, each variating slightly. Krishna has more purplish leaves. Energetically, it is an aromatic and slightly warming and pungent herb, moving stagnation and lifting the spirits. It is an adaptogenic herb used to positively address many nervous system issues, including the negative effects of excessive stress, anxiety, insomnia, depression, overwork, and more. It can be considered a balm to the entire nervous system and may be taken daily to support good health or relied upon frequently to address many nervous system issues. Specifically, Holy Basil acts as a cerebral stimulant and can help to reduce mental fog.

Special Considerations

  • Holy basil may have an anti-fertility effect on both men and women and thus should not be taken by couples wishing to conceive or by pregnant women.

  • Those who are taking insulin to control their diabetes may need to adjust their insulin levels while taking holy basil. If holy basil is being used to assist with blood sugar control, it is best to use it consistently and dependably so that insulin treatments can be somewhat consistent from day to day.

White Peony tea produces a very mild and sweet taste without the often sharp and astringent qualities of regular green teas. The name of this tea can be a misnomer as it is embodied with hues of green and brown with delicate white "needles." It is smooth and delicate in flavor adding a solid base that pairs the crisp flavor of the Holy Basil with the sharp flavor of the Peppermint. White peony is one of the oldest plants cultivated for its flowers alone, a practice going back to 2000 B.C.E. in China. It was brought to Japan by Buddhist monks from China, where it is still considered to be a symbol of prosperity.

Contains caffeine.

Clear Intentions herbal tea blend is currently available for purchase individually as a loose-leaf tea, or in the Clear Intentions Monthly Healing Toolkit.

Since I am still trying to conceive - as are many others I know, I reduced the ratio of Holy Basil in the blend, so it consists of 1/2 Peppermint and equal parts (1/4 each) of Holy Basil and White Peony. I do find the tea refreshing and invigorating, as well as truly feeling a sense of “clean” and “clear” during and after drinking this tea.

It would be lovely to add a touch of honey or pure maple syrup as a light sweetener and serve over ice on warm days.

It is particularly lovely and helpful to drink this while doing scheduling, journaling, goal assessment, or any other focused brainwork - such as studying or researching. Also, it would be perfect when doing intention setting and planning around the New Moon cycles.

Supplies ARE limited, so even if it does go out of stock before you get yours, please feel free to contact me and request it or see if I have any extra in my physical shop inventory.

What would you drink this tea for?

Until next time,

~ Crystal
