The Benefits of Red Alaea Sea Salt

Red Alaea Sea Salt is quickly becoming a favorite of mine as it is versatile to use in cooking and for health. It has a beautiful color, but even better is how full of healing benefits it has. This has become a signature addition to a few of my bath salt recipes that you can find in the Shop.

It has a gorgeous deep red color and is created through natural evaporation when it is trapped in tidal pools and mixes with red volcanic clay. The red color comes from the extremely high amount of iron in the clay, and the salt is said to contain up to 80 different naturally occurring minerals. 

Cooking: Red alaea salt has a mellow flavor that goes well with all kinds of dishes as well as soups and stews.

  • It is gaining popularity as a topping for chocolate desserts and ice cream

  • It is the traditional salt used on the Hawaiian islands to season and preserve most of the foods

  • Its mesmerizing color, bold flavor, and signature taste profile make it a favorite of countless chefs around the world

Cosmetic: When used in soaps, baths, or scrubs it will add a reddish hue from the clay.

  • Works really well as a beautiful addition to bath salts and exfoliating scrubs

  • Pairs well with Rose essential oil and fresh Rose petals for a sensuous and luxurious spa-like feeling
