The Benefits of Rose

Rose is one of the most commonly known flowers, associated with romance and love. Rightly so, the benefits of rose are particularly helpful for emotions and sexuality. You may not be as familiar with some of the other amazing benefits of using Rose as part of your daily wellness routine. One important thing to realize is that Rose essential oil ranks as one of the highest frequencies, meaning that overall it can work well for your own body to bring your frequency up. The higher the frequency, the higher the healing potential. That also gives you a clue for which body system to use it with. Lower body systems have a lower frequency, while the upper body systems have a higher frequency.

History of Use: For hundreds of years, the rose has been revered for its beauty, fragrance, and invocations of the heart. Roses have a myriad of beneficial uses from an edible food to its captivating aroma. They make a beautiful addition to herbal potpourris, sachets, pillow mixes, and body sprays. Roses have been valued for their beauty, perfume, and healthful properties for hundreds of years.

Has been used for the skin for thousands of years. The Arab physician Avicenna was responsible for first distilling rose oil, eventually authoring an entire book on the healing attributes of rose water derived from the distillation of rose. Throughout much of ancient history, the oil was produced by enfleurage, a process of pressing the petals along with vegetable oil to extract the essence. Today, however, almost all rose oils are solvent extracted.

Fragrant Influence: This middle note has a sweet and rosy scent with a full body. Its beautiful fragrance is intoxicating and aphrodisiac-like. It helps bring balance and harmony, allowing one to overcome insecurities. It is stimulating and elevating to the mind, creating a sense of well-being.

As Essential Oil:

  • Extraction Method: Steam-distilled from a flower (a two-part process); Steam distilled in a delicate process, it takes 22 pounds of rose petals to produce one 5 ml bottle of Rose essential oil.

  • Indications: Some results have shown rose oil to help with asthma, chronic bronchitis, herpes simplex, impotence, scarring, sexual debilities, skin disease and wrinkles with properties shown to be helpful for anti-inflammatory, preventing and reducing scarring, and for balancing and elevating the mind.
